Historical Building with Home Automation System
A Grade 2 listed building with an interesting history will always be a challenging project. Added to that the very tight time scales to accommodate the family’s return from the USA and the challenge was increased.
Whole house audio and video distribution, lighting control, video entry systems, and gate and garage automation formed the project’s core.
We’ve employed a combination of surface-mounted, floor-standing, and in-ceiling loudspeakers, each chosen to complement the aesthetic of the room. Three of the rooms have surround sound systems, while the remainder have stereo.
The imposing hallway and stairs presented a particularly interesting challenge. The traditional lath and horse hair plaster ceiling, with limited access above, made fitting the four in-ceiling loudspeakers required to fill the large space with sound a particularly complex task.
